He gave testimony before a house committee and also a deposition. He's accused of perjury, false statements and obstructing Congress by making those denials. Clemens chief accusor and the star prosecution witness will be Brian McNamee who was his former trainer and worked out with him for about a decade, and helped shape him into this power pitcher who was the most feared pitchers in the major leagues. And now Roger Clemens says his former trainer and friend is lying. That he never knowingly took steroids of human growth hormone. So their entire defense is really to discredit Brian McNamee, they say if he did give him any steroids or human growth hormone he did it without Clemens' knowledge. That Clemens though the shots he was getting from his trainer were vitamins or lydocane. \"\u003cbr/\u003eNedra Pickler/Associated Press\u003cbr/\u003e\"he stayed pretty stoic in court today. He showed some signs of nervousness during the debate over these issues of what the jurors are going to hear. He chewed on his pen a little bit. But mostly he didn't show much emotion, he did turn to face all of the jury panelists as they came into the room and he nodded at a couple and smiled a couple of times at people who smiled at him. But questions...in fact one juror raised her hand to point out that everyone probably knows some of the names that are going to be in this case. So what the judge wants to find out is are they going to be impartial and will their knowledge of the players in this case cause them to be impartial on a jury. They also were asked if any of them play sports, follow sports, coach sports so there will be a lot of discussion about that as jury selection goes
