their own mark on the World Economic Forum.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the \"Davos Debates\" corner of the Congress Centre, Google Earth, YouTube and MySpace were showcasing the various ways the forum can be exposed to a global audience.\u003cbr/\u003eOn a large interactive screen participants can surf planet earth via the Google Earth programme.\u003cbr/\u003eAdditionally, participants can leave video messages on YouTube and MySpace web sites.\u003cbr/\u003eAll this is part of the World Economic Forum's push to reach a younger audience.\u003cbr/\u003eEd Sanders of Google suggested that forums of this type have been traditionally perceived as a little \"staid\" but with the inclusion of YouTube and MySpace, conference participants can reach a broader audience. \u003cbr/\u003eOne participant looking to reach out to the public was former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, who left a video message on YouTube.\u003cbr/\u003eFor the first time, both YouTube and MySpace sent their own reporters to the forum to send daily reports in the form of web blogs.\u003cbr/\u003eRebecca Mcquigg won an online competition to be MySpace's reporter and spoke of the new forms of technology providing an alternative platform for reporting on traditional events like the World Economic Forum.\u003cbr/\u003eAmong the 2,500 participants in Davos are over 40 heads of state who will discuss this year's theme of \"shaping the post-crisis world\" in fields such as energy, climate change and free trade. \u003cbr/\u003eThey include Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, British Prime Minister Gordon
