So what you do is that you experience the feeling of flying in the virtual world. And at the same time you enhance your body as you are training your core muscles, improving your coordination. So it is about fun and workout and being healthy and active.\"The company is targeting gyms, fitness centres and gaming arcades with the simulator.The simulator can be used with a variety of different virtual reality headsets, but most of the games have been developed for the Samsung Gear VR.Samsung Gear VR is a mobile virtual reality headset, the Samsung smartphone slides in to it and acts as the screen and the hardware.But it does mean that the graphics are somewhat limited compared to other virtual reality headsets.\"It is pretty exciting. The graphics aren't the best compared to normal games. But that's of course due to mobile gaming. But it is really fascinating seeing this and controlling myself by body movement,\" says Felix Deimel.The flight simulator is one of the highlights of the 'Digility' augmented and virtual reality trade fair in Cologne.It is the first edition of the fair, and it is focused on the burgeoning business of virtual reality.\"So much is happening in AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) at the moment. This year saw the release of the HTC Vive As well as the Oculus Rift, sort of consumer package. Later this year, I think later this month, the Sony VR solution is coming out. I'm really excited about that,\" says Alysha Naples, a keynote speaker and VR expert. \"There are so many people that are gong to start using Virtual Reality and I think it is going to be absolutely amazing because that's how we are going to learn. There is only so much we an do in our labs and our offices, using equipment hot glued and duct taped together. And now when these things are in peoples hands we are going to really start to understand how do people use it ? What's working? What isn't working ? What do people want that we are not giving them yet ?\"The fair is located on the sidelines of the large Photokina photography and imaging trade fair in Cologne. A few virtual reality cinemas have been set up, as well as a virtual reality bar.It seems that companies are trying out different virtual reality products and solutions to see what works, and what is likely to sell.It is a nascent market, but one that is likely to grow.\"The challenges are finding business models that work. Understanding who the real users are. Understanding how far the market penetration is going to go,\" says Kimo Quaintance, curator of the Digility fair:\"But also there is the huge number of technical challenges. There are lots of challenges in finding out how do we bring people in to these technologies in ways that really tap in to their emotions rather than jar them or scare them. So to get past the kind of 'wow factor' in to really understanding how these technologies really make a serious impact. That's really one of the huge challenges the whole industry is facing.\"Companies like Samsung and HTC are putting in a lot of effort, and advertising money, in to their virtual reality products.In 2014 technology giant Facebook bought Oculus, the virtual reality start up that arguably started the VR trend.But mass-market adaptation is probably still some time away, according to Naples.\"I think overall that that mainstream adoption is still going to be slow. Most of the devices out there have some severe limitations around weight, around tethering, around battery life in particular,\" she says.\"People talk about 'I'm going to use this all day.' But none of this tech is actually ready for that yet. So I think it is going to be a little while before we are looking at all day use, the way we use our phones.
