In Mumbai, dog owners are finding partners for their pets, and some are even having them officially tie the knot.STORY-LINE:  Duchess and Pepper, two Golden Retrievers look slightly confused as their owners exchange marital garlands and have them walk around a fire to complete their marital vows in traditional Hindu-style.A priest stands by and chants mantras in Sanskrit as people throw flowers on the newly weds. \"We are looking for a good groom, good house, so that she can meet her partner,\" says 34-year-old Palomita Ghosh, who is the owner of the bride, Duchess.Pepper may now sniff the bride - but the marriage gets off to a feisty start.Eventually the Golden Retrievers calm down and accept their lot.The Glam Dogs Show and Olympiad brings together dog owners in Mumbai who are looking for the perfect mate for their pet. Weddings are on offer for those who want it. \"Those who have male dogs, are looking for females. Owners of females (dogs) are looking for male dog owners. There was no common platform where we could bring all of them together and give them an opportunity to date and meet and greet. They can take this forward however they please, but on one condition – there is no dowry allowed,\" says one of the organisers, says Deepen Sharma. These Siberian Huskies - called Paddy and Honey - have just met - and according to Paddy's owner it's love at first sight. Jignesh Sharma says: \"This is my son, the Siberian Husky. His name is Paddy. He is two. We were looking for a match for him. We've been here since early this morning and after having met many owners, we liked Mr. Patel's Honey. They are both nice and it has been like love at first sight. They have been very happy since the time they have met, and we would like to go ahead with the relationship.\" But there's more to these pairings than just a quick sniff - Hindu priest, Sushil Shastri says they are matches made in the heavens. \"Just like humans are matched on the basis of their birth dates, if these dogs birth dates don't match, we match their names. After matching their names we match them on the basis of their horoscopes. Like Paddy and Honey (Siberian Huskies) here, I have been their matchmaker and also read their faces. I have also counted the number of teeth they have. After all the calculations, these beautiful and smart dogs, whose body characteristics match very well, match in all the 36 horoscope criteria.\"  Visitors, human and canine, are treated to a live rock band, free vaccinations and a catwalk for celebrity dogs at the show which is the first of its kind in India.This year's event ran on 19th Feb 2017.Mumbai, India – 19 February, 20171.
