He of course always supported the zero tolerance rule which means that any priest involved with abuse has to be removed from ministry and can never act as a priest. Again he was a little weak on disciplining bishops who didn't do a good job. That's changed. He had a conversion himself this year. And he as a result he saw what a bad job the bishops were doing in Chile and he demanded that they all submit their resignations. Now this is sending a signal to every bishop in the world that they better do their jobs or they're going to hear from the pope.
