Yet more than the sounds they make, it’s the choices that musicians are making about how and when to play that really matter - choices that are made through listening. John Cage is a composer who revolutionised 20th century music through the choices he has made. This lecture will explore Cage’s music, focusing on his most famous piece 4’33”.
