When they met in 1993, they were “sort of in the closet.” But the two hit it off and soon became inseparable. John, 100, and Jerry, 72, sat down at the veterans home where they live to reflect on nearly 25 years together. This story is part of our STONEWALL OUTLOUD collection. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots in June 1969, StoryCorps is working to preserve the personal histories of members of the LGBTQ community.
