\nJerry Blumengarten taught for 32 years in the New York City school system.  Even though he was a licensed Social Studies teacher, he taught most subjects (Language Arts, Science, Math, Computers…) for grades 6-9. He wrote...\nJerry Blumengarten taught for 32 years in the New York City school system.  Even though he was a licensed Social Studies teacher, he taught most subjects (Language Arts, Science, Math, Computers…) for grades 6-9. He wrote curriculum for his school district, the NYC Board of Education and Open Doors a school-business partnership. He was also a lead teacher and cooperating teacher. Cybrary Man's Educational Web Sites started April 11, 1999 as school's library website when he served as school's teacher-librarian.  He was elected and served two terms on the town's library board of trustees.Jerry also coached back-to-back New York City Track and Field Championships with two different schools and helped develop track and field participants. He now lives in Florida.At the same time that he was teaching he wrote educational materials for the utility industry. After retiring he moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts and helped write the Mashpee Town Charter, get funding for a new library and revise the local school district's curriculum.On Twitter he was a member of the #edchat team for five years and the originator of  #engsschat.  He is a proud grandparent of 5 grandchildren. \n
