Known today as the “Mother of Hubble,” she was instrumental in taking the Hubble Space Telescope from an idea to reality and establishing NASA’s program of space-based astronomical observatories. Now, NASA has honored her by giving her name to one of its most powerful upcoming missions. Formerly known as WFIRST, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope will lead the way in studying dark energy, dark matter, and exoplanets. Learn more about the incredible woman it is named for.
