Since, the equation of a parabola has 3 constants, three equations and hence three points are needed to solve/obtain the equation of a parabola. Given three points on a parabola, we use the standard form of a quadratic equation to set up a system of three linear equations which we solve to obtain: a, b, and c and hence, the equation of the parabola.\n
