The plane is divided into four equal parts called the quadrants with the region between the positive x-axis and the positive y-axis called the 1st quadrant having angles 0 to 90...\n👉 Learn how to determine the quadrant given the constraint. The plane is divided into four equal parts called the quadrants with the region between the positive x-axis and the positive y-axis called the 1st quadrant having angles 0 to 90 degrees, the region between the negative x-axis, and the positive y-axis called the 2nd quadrant having angles 90 to 180 degrees, the region between the negative x-axis and the negative y-axis called the 3rd quadrant having angles 180 to 270 degrees and the region between the positive x-axis and the negative y-axis called the 4th quadrant having angles 270 to 360 degrees. The value of the six trigonometric functions is either positive or negative depending on the trigonometric function and the quadrant in which the angle lies. While all the six trigonometric functions are positive in the 1st quadrant, only sine and cosecant are positive in the 2nd quadrant, tangent and cotangent are positive in the 3rd quadrant, and cosine and secant are positive in the 4th quadrant. Thus, given the constraints on the value(s) of the trigonometric functions, we can find the quadrant of the angle accordingly.\n
