And the power rule of logarithms states that the logarithm of a number raised to a certain exponent is equivalent to the product of the exponent and the logarithm of the number. For example: log a^n = n log a. Thus, when given a logarithm expression involving the logarithm of the product of two or more numbers to a certain base, the logarithm can be expanded by adding the individual logarithms of the terms that make up that product to the same base as the base of the logarithm of the product.
