We will first determine the absolute value of each number. We will subtract the smaller absolute value from the larger. We will review how to subtract decimals. We will stack the values and line up the decimal points. We will subtract. We will go back to the original equation to determine the original sign of the larger absolute value. This sign will be the sign of our difference. We will identify the correct location on the number line and plot the solution. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.
