Jeff emphasizes the innate human need to belong and the emotional pain experienced when that sense of belonging is absent. He presents game changers to combat alienation, including not participating in exclusionary behavior, supporting those who are being alienated, and reminding targets that the issue lies with the person doing the alienating, not themselves.
