To demonstrate this, we made a Weiss distribution tool,...\nSome people argue that woodturning should be left to a woodturning lathe; however, here we show that a small engineering lathe is very capable at machining small wooden components. To demonstrate this, we made a Weiss distribution tool, or puck rake, which is a tool used when making espresso. We made the 'prongs' of the tool from titanium and machined the wooden handle entirely on the mini lathe. We use a bespoke drilling attachment mounted to the cross slide to drill the holes in the handle to accept the titanium. This is a great project for those who only have access to a small lathe and are looking for things to make with it.\n
