All you need is 2 balloons, a magnifying glass and the sun! \u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003e ⭕ Materials:\u003cbr/\u003e - Black balloon\u003cbr/\u003e - Clear balloon\u003cbr/\u003e - Balloon pump (optional)\u003cbr/\u003e - Magnifying Glass\u003cbr/\u003e - Sunlight \u003cbr/\u003e - Black pen (optional)\u003cbr/\u003e \u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003e ⭕ Instructions:\u003cbr/\u003e (1) First, place the black balloon inside the clear balloon.\u003cbr/\u003e (2) Then, using a balloon pump, blow up the black balloon. If you don’t have a balloon pump then blow it up manually with your mouth.\u003cbr/\u003e (3) Tie the black balloon, then blow up the clear balloon bigger than the black one.\u003cbr/\u003e (4) Now, take your balloon outside on a sunny day. Hold a magnifying glass directly in the sun and point it towards your balloon. Watch what happens! \u003cbr/\u003e (5) To take this experiment even further, draw a spot on the clear balloon with a black pen.\u003cbr/\u003e (6) Again, hold the magnifying glass in direct sunlight and point it towards the balloon and see what happens!\u003cbr/\u003e \u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003e ⭕ Science Explained:\u003cbr/\u003e We all know that the sun is very hot. But did you know that the colour black absorbs heat better than other colours? In this experiment, when direct sunlight hits the black balloon, it absorbs the heat which causes its bonds to weaken, and then it pops. Magnifying glass helps to focus the sunlight into a specific spot and heats up that area quicker.
