Judson Manor in Cleveland, Ohio did some out of the box thinking by partnering with the Cleveland Institute of Music on an idea that has won rave reviews from both the local residents and the students that are participating.

The young musicians from the institute are invited to stay there, for free, in return for companionship. These two generations bond over music, long talks and meals. This intergenerational program benefits the lives of everyone involved.

One of the resident music students, Daniel Parvin, is loving the interaction and relationships he has formed. \" Judson Manor gives me free housing and 100 surrogate grandparents in exchange for regular concerts,\" he explained.

This unique program has flourished beyond anyone’s expectations. More than a convenient living arrangement, the students and residents have built meaningful friendships that bridge the generational gaps. Students share their musical talents, residents share art lessons, cooking tips, career advice, and even relationship advice.
