3-D Map of Japan

Ninth graders build a 3-D map with clay illustrating the topographical features of Japan. In this East Asian studies lesson plan, 9th graders demonstrate knowledge of the location, scale, elevation and landforms of Japan and examine the correlation between elevation and population density. Students discover how elevation and dense population affect the culture, history and lifestyle of the people of Japan.
