A Different Story

In this multiplication instructional activity, students solve 4 sets of 4 fill in the blank problems. Then students explain how the 4 products in each set are alike. Next, students write 3 more multiplication problems that fit the rule for each set. Last, students write a set of 4 multiplication problems that are alike in some way and ask a classmate to solve the problems and tell how they are alike.
