A Family Divided

Students listen as the teacher introduces the Civil War. They discuss Mary Todd Lincoln's situation. Students work in two groups, one represents the North and the other the South. They pretend to have a relative fighting in the Civil War.Students write a letter to Mary Todd and President Lincoln describing their feelings and reactions to the civil War.
