Youngsters view a "train" of 153 cars and are asked to come up with a strategy to determine how many cars are in it. They build a train with cars ccmposed of 10 blocks each, and skip count to 150. Finally, learners work together to regroup some of the 10s into a block of 100, with remaining groups of 10s and 1s, and draw a picture of the train on a 3-digit place value mat.
