Trying to get your mathematicians working on addition number sentences? Get their attention with cookies! Learners examine 15 ten-frames filled with two types of cookies each (let the class choose the type of cookies). For each question, learners write out an addition sentence depicting the two amounts of each type of cookie, which serve as addends and always equal 10. Of course, this would go over marvelously if the reward was practicing with real cookies.
