Instructional Ideas

Different packing lists can be saved for reference when repeating different trips during following school years.

Classroom Considerations

  • It takes a little practice to understand how to use the app. When you create a personal list, the factory-programmed list is imported, and you delete items that you will not need.
  • As an educator taking students on a trip, you will want to make sure to add medical authorizations and permission slips to the Documents category
  • This is helpful as a reference for thinking through all for the possible supplies needed; however, you could certainly keep your own editable list in a spreadsheet from year to year without paying for the app
  • If you are traveling where you will be in WiFi range, the app makes your packing list available to you when preparing to return home
Pros

  • Comprehensive list of supplies
Cons

  • Main backpacking supplies list is not organized alphabetically and there is no provision for rearranging it
