Brave Individuals

This Brave Individuals lesson plan also includes:

"Be strong, be brave, and be steady." The words of Bravemole, the hero of Lynne Jonell's picture book, model for young readers courage, perseverance, and inner strength—the attributes brave people manifest when bad things happen. After listening to a reading of the picture book, class members engage in a discussion of the heroes in the aftermath of 9/11. They then craft a letter of appreciation to a hero in their community.
