Build Your Own Astrolabe

In this short answer worksheet, students build an astrolabe to measure 2 different types of angles: the angle of the Moon above the horizon at different times of the day or night and the angle of different stars above the horizon and how this changes from month to month. Also, students receive background knowledge and are required to respond to 2 focus questions.

Lesson Planet has given new life to concepts that I have taught for years! It is an awesome resource. I introduced my student teacher to Lesson Planet last year and she is using it this year in her classroom.
