Fifth graders review the defintion of a renewable resource. They are explained that ice cubes represent a renewable resource; ice cubes melt, but can be replenished by refreezing. Pupils brainstorm a list of things that are insulated, either from heat or cold. Students discuss the properties of insulating materials.
