Comparing and Contrasting

Cats and dogs? Moths and butterflies? In what important ways are they similar? Different? Eighth graders use a comparison and contrast graphic organizer to chart the similarities and differences between a pair of subjects. Although the template is not a Venn diagram, you might consider introducing this classic graphic with the lesson.
