Comprehending Informational Text: The Fallacy of Either-or

“America: love it or leave it,” is arguably the most famous example of the logical fallacy of the fallacy of either/or that presents only two responses to a situation and ignores other alternatives. Class members examine a series of examples, identify the fallacies, and suggest alternatives the fallacies ignore. For guided practice, learners create their own either/or slogan.
