Connecting a Main Idea and Details

In this main idea and details instructional activity, students learn to connect details and examples in expository paragraphs to the topic sentences. Students read the four sentences and identify them as M for main idea or D for detail. Students then read the next set of sentences and use the graphic organizer to arrange the main idea and details.

Mal A.
I am a very busy Head of Department and often don't have time to create worksheets and other resources for my classes. Lesson Planet has helped me find many useful and interesting activities to support my students' learning.
