Conserving Nonrenewable Resources

Fifth graders define and identify several nonrenewable resources. Students, in groups, research nonrenewable resources. After researching on selected websites, 5th graders suggest ways to conserve limited resources. Students compose individual essays explaining their ideas for conserving nonrenewable resources.

I was at a crossroads trying to think of a new… interesting… active way to introduce and teach the different types of economic systems. I turned to Lesson Planet and entered “Economic Systems” into the search tab and was inundated with resources and lesson plans and ideas… the kids loved the lesson I modified for them and still ask when we are going to do another lesson like that “Paper Airplane Company” one.
