Countdown Challenge: Happy Numbers

In this happy numbers instructional activity, students classify numbers as happy or unhappy. They determine the number is happy if the sum of each digit squared eventually ends in the number one. They indicate a number is unhappy if the sum of each digit squared creates an endless loop. This one-page instructional activity contains 100 problems. Examples and explanations are included.
