Cranes & Crows

Students divide into two groups, and are labeled either Cranes or Crows; the names of the teams are similar because students use their listening skills to distinguish between the team names as they are called. In this long a and long o lesson, the students' teams line up on the opposite end of the field. The leader calls out one of the team names, and then the members of that group must run to the other end of the field; this requires students to use their listening skills.
