Designing a Healthy Menu

Students review what they know about healthy eating by discussing a balanced diet. They work in small groups to examine the ingredients in children's recipes while identifying the main food group used. Next, they categorize the recipes into the five food groups and discuss the quantities of the food should be included in a balanced diet. Finally, they use recipes from a CD to design a healthy menu.
