Young scholars dig through dictionaries to uncover the wealth of information they provide. Using the included graphic organizer, children learn about target words by finding their part of speech, pronunciation, definition, synonyms, and origin before writing a sentence to demonstrate their understanding of the term. This activity can be used to address vocabulary in any subject area and would work perfectly as a center during rotations in any elementary grade level.
