Dinosaur Breath

Learners explore the role of dinosaurs in the carbon cycle. They discuss how dinosaurs obtained carbon for their bodies and how organisms living in the ocean use carbon dioxide to make calcium carbonate shells. Students observe a demonstration of chalk releasing carbon dioxide and explain the chemical reaction that occurs. They diagram and write an essay describing the carbon pathways.
