End-of-Year Practice Test (Grade 5 Math)

After a long year of sweat and tears it's time to see what your young mathematicians have learned in the fifth grade. Based specifically on the Common Core standards, this practice test includes both multiple choice and free response questions that thoroughly examine children's understanding of math.

Instructional Ideas

  • Take advantage of this opportunity for students to learn and practice implementing different test taking strategies
  • After completing the assessment allow the class to work in pairs or small groups discussing the answers they found
Classroom Considerations

  • If computer's are not readily available in your classroom, take your students to the computer lab and give them a chance to experience the online testing process
  • Minor differences exist between the paper and computer-based versions of the test, though the same content is covered in each
  • To support vision-impaired students a large-print version of the test is provided, though depending on your school's printers you may have difficulty producing a document this size
