Instructional Ideas

  • Rather than have students simply summarize a unit they have learned, provide an extension opportunity in which pupils can dig further into an topic or to embark upon a new topic that interests them
  • Include a detailed rubric that will apply to any of the project options by identifying standards for writing, timeliness, group collaboration, and presentation
Classroom Considerations

  • While this project was initially intended for a chemistry class, the guidelines could easily be adapted to other subject areas
Pros

  • Includes group selection form, parent acknowledgment letter, and project planning sheet
  • Each project type comes with a link to an example of student work
Cons

  • As a PDF, the document cannot be edited; however, you can adapt the major guidelines and requirements to your own document
