Exploring channel change

Students identify and a channel change using historic maps and delineate areas of dramatic change. Then they predict where these changes might be evident on the landscape based on the most dramatic shifts in the channel. Students also use historic and modern aerial photographs to refine hypotheses and then, detailed topographic maps and Global Positioning Systems to plan field test.

Damaris M.
Being a first year foreign language teacher came with many trials. However, having Lesson Planet has made my job so much easier :). I can always find a few lessons on any given concept I am introducing to my students. The neatest thing is the agility of use the site provides and the search for lessons by grade. I love that! (Especially since I teach 4th - 8th graders.) I need a variety of lessons that meets my students' needs at their level.
