Fair Trade in a Global Economy

Students identify and discuss what sets third world countries apart from first world countries, define fair trade, estimate and create list of time spent and materials cost of hand-made items to determine fair prices in Mexican pesos compared to United States minimum wage, explore ways to make conscientious choices when purchasing imported goods, and create brochures explaining why particular item's price is fair.
