Fairy Tales

Students identify and interpret how an artist creates mood and draws emphasis in the illustrations. Then they identify and interpret how these illustrations differ from others in fairy tales they have read. Students also recognize that artists create the setting for the story with illustrations and that they use light and placement to draw emphasis in illustrations to what is important.

I have really appreciated the connecting links to a variety of sources (i.e. National Geographic) and the teacher-tested lessons have been very helpful for me in planning my units. Thanks Lesson Planet!
