Here is a really neat art activity that can be used for any grade and connected to literature, classics, or other writing activities. The class creates a fantasy creature, then they outline it by gluing yarn around the edges, they paint the yarn black and then fill in the depressed portions of the image with bright oil pastels. Tip: Have the class read a story about a fantasy creature, then have them write a narrative to go along with the image they've created.
