Faucet Flow Rate

Pupils determine the flow rate of a faucet in gallons per second (gps) as well as cubic feet per second (cfs) at three different levels (quarter blast, half blast, and full blast). By recording how long it takes to fill a gallon jug, the students calculate the flow rate in gallons per second. After the experiment, pupils convert the flow rates from gps to cfs.
