Even the littlest scientists need to know how to make predictions, observations, and then collect data for analysis. Tiny ornithologists make bird feeders to bring more birds into the school play yard. They discuss what birds in the area eat, make several different types of feeders, then predict which one will attract more birds. They use a data collection chart to mark down their observations throughout the week. Any time a kindergartner gets a clipboard and a chart, you know they're going to have a great time learning and observing.
