From Patterns to Prediction

Seventh graders build a series of patterned structures, describe the pattern, and use it to make a prediction. They then construct their own pattern, record and describe it, and pose and answer a question about it. Studnets identify and describe the patterns in a series of triangles. They determine the pattern of the number of tiles in a given series of rectangular shapes and in a series that they design.
