Help fight hunger in your community by growing food in a garden. Young gardeners grow vegetables and maintain their gardens in order to donate their food to local organizations. The project is a great way to incorporate the study of plant growth and making observations, all while helping the community.

Instructional Ideas
  • Use the food to donate to children in your class, at your school, or in your community
  • Complete the project during a unit on plant life and composting
  • Have pupils make observations of their garden as they tend to it throughout the school year
Classroom Considerations
