Go Fly a Kite!

Students discuss junk mail and costs associated with receiving mail that is usually thrown away, collect junk mail over course of one week and bring it to school, make predictions about its total weight, and analyze mail to identify natural resources that were wasted in its production and disposal. Students then work in groups to make kites from junk mail, and write letters of complaint to politicians and businesses.
