Graphing Historical Data

Young data collectors research and explore population growth of a North Carolina county. After collecting data and researching historical events, students organize the information and figure the percent of change. In addition, they compute the mean, median, mode and outliers. Learners insert data into a spreadsheet, create a bar graph of the information, and write a summary of their findings. This lesson contains some ideas that could be modified for other locations.
