You will have a class full of vegetable royalty with this produce recognition lesson, which ends in learners creating crowns with fruits and vegetables glued all over. Start with a book to introduce young scholars to this part of the food pyramid, giving taste tests of real fruits and vegetables. Several titles are recommended. Learners guess which parts they eat on various farm-grown foods, and then make their crowns with pre-cut materials. Older students could label each piece of food.
