How are teeth and eggs similar? The second lesson in this series uses hardboiled eggs to teach children about the structure of their teeth. Making the connection that both teeth and eggs have a hard outside and a soft inside, students learn the words enamel and dentin while coloring the different parts on a diagram. Eggs are then submerged in water, soda, and vinegar as part of a two-day experiment highlighting the effect of each liquid on the enamel of our teeth. A great activity that gets kids thinking about the importance of good oral hygiene.
