Harold and Purple Crayon Lesson Plan

Students listen to the story Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson as an introduction to this color activity. In this color sorting lesson, students learn which colors are considered to be "warm" and which are thought to be "cool," as the class creates a T-chart with these two columns. Students then sort their table group's crayons into "warm" and "cool" containers.

Lesson Planet has allowed me to build on many lessons that I have done in the past. It's always nice to see how other educators are teaching a concept.
